Mailtraq can take advantage of multiple CPU's if they are available. Mailtraq works well in a 64-bit environment* like Windows Server 2008 or XP 64-bit
Machine sizing needs to reflect your email requirements - a large installation using IMAP and holding a large amount of mail on the server needs a more powerful machine than a small installation using just POP3 with no mail storage. A typical installation in a webmail or IMAP environment would be: Windows XP or Server 2000/2003 on a Pentium 4 2.4GHz or higher machine with 1GB RAM, and 100MB of storage, plus additional space for Archiving. Larger installations would benefit from a more powerful system and smaller installations would manage with a less powerful system. It is a simple matter to move Mailtraq from one machine to another as your requirements change (See www.mailtraq.com/moving ).
Upgrading procedure for Vista/W2008/W7 Always be sure to have a full and valid backup of your database folder before upgrading. To upgrade Mailtraq
1.) Close the Mailtraq Console if it is open. 2.) Use the Monitor icon (right-click) to 'Stop Service'. 3.) Exit the Monitor program by clicking 'Exit' 4.) Alternative Procedure If the above procedure fails to complete you should follow the above steps 1-3, and then at 'step 4' Uninstall Mailtraq from the Windows Control Panel - and then run the Vista/W2008/W7 download.
