Folders
Mailtraq provides a easy to use interface for creating Folders into which you can sort your email.
The Folders setting is accessed from the 'Options' menu, or by clicking on the column heading 'Folders' in the 'Email' view.
Folders are created simply by entering a name for the new folder into the dialog box, and then clicking the
[Add New Folder] Button.
Folders can be nested by adding a '/' to the folder name as shown in the example.
Folders will sort alphabetically next time Mailtraq is restarted.
Folders created in webmail are also reflected in your regular IMAP account, and may also be accessed by the Administrator from the Folders tab of the User Mailbox Properties dialog.
Messages are moved into a folder by selecting the email in the 'email' view, and then selecting the destination folder from the drop-down list shown at the top of the right-column. Multiple selections may be made.
Filters
Mailtraq will sort incoming messages into folders for you by using Filters.
The Filters setting is accessed from the 'Options' menu.
Message Filters are used to automatically move incoming mail into the appropriate folders. Filters are applied in order, and only the first filter that matches is used.
Filters are created by clicking the [New Filter] button in the Filters page. The order of the filter can be changed by using the [Move up] and [Move Down] buttons.
Selected Filters may also be run on specified Folders to greatly simplify moving mutiple messages from folder to folder.
Configuration Tip
Administrators should guard against allowing excessive build up of junk or deleted mail in Users mailboxes. Effective spam filtering can divert many thousands of messages to Junk - and this build up of messages can slow the overall performance of the mailserver - particularly the responsiveness of webmail.
