Filtering

Users would normally create their own filters using their IMAP client or Mailtraq's Webmail

The Filtering tab, is used to configure mailbox filters in Mailtraq.  Mailbox filters are used primarily to sort incoming mail to the specified mailbox into an appropriate Folder.  Read about managing Folders here.

The textbox displays the currently active filters and the folders the filters will be sorting on. 

The options available are Edit, Add and to Delete filters.  The list of filters work in order from top to bottom.  If a mail message fails to satisfy the conditions of a filter rule the next filter rule will be tested against the message and so on.  The first filter rule matched by a mail message will be executed and no further testing of the filter rules will be applied. 

The up/down arrows can be used to adjust the priority of any filter rule.

Mailbox Filtering should not be confused with the 'Incoming Mail Filter' facility of the Mail-tab
